The  Aeolus Acoustic Wind Pavilion is a wind-singing metal sculpture by Bristol-based artist Luke Jerram that lets windy gusts and breezes find their capacity for articulation. Using no electrical power to assist the melody-making, nylon harp strings are attached to some of its tubes, diverting wind into the centre of the work to create sound. Even the unstrung tubes are tuned to an aeolian scale to hum at low frequencies.

Back in 2009, artist Isaac Cordal shaped wire mesh kitchen colanders into faces and installed them on the streets of London, where street lights cast shadows of the faces on to sidewalks.

Jamie Salmon is a British born, self taught contemporary sculptor, living and working in Vancouver, Canada. He started his career working as a commercial artist and sculptor for the movie effects industry. He specializes in hyper-realist sculpture, both figurative and portrait, utilizing such materials as silicone rubber, resin, hair and fabric.

Antony Gromley needed volunteers to help arrange the 40,000 clay figures that make up his “Field of the British Isles” installation. The acclaimed work, on loan from the Arts Council Collection, is being exhibited in three, normally empty, rooms of the National Trust’s Barrington Court as part of the Trust New Art program.
