Lego has built a Star Wars X-Wing fighter to scale using a ridiculous 5,335,200 bricks in the process. It’s as big as the real thing, capable of fitting the real Luke Skywalker. This version reproduces the official $60 Lego 9493 X-Wing Fighter, but instead of being 560-pieces and a few inches long, this model sits at 11-feet tall and 43 feet long, with a 44-foot wingspan. Carlyle Livingston II and Wayne Hussey spent over 800 hours across twelve weeks building a LEGO Bat Cave. It’s made out of 20,000 individual parts, weighs over 100 pounds, and even has its own lighting system.
It’s also got a total of four motors hidden inside to power various elements, like elevators, the Batmobile’s turntable and a rotating storage area for Batman’s outfits and gear. Read the rest of this entry »

Artist and toy sculptor Jason Freeny creates delightfully morbid dissections of toys and other pop culture characters, most famously Super Mario and the Stay-Puft Marshmellow Man. His most recent creation is this triptych of three 18″ tall lego men who have been cut to reveal their mysterious, Lego anatomy. Freeny acquires actual 18″ novelty toys sold by Lego and then creates the organs and bones using sculpted foam.

Lego’s latest print campaign uses only colored blocks to create a simplistic interpretation of popular cartoon characters, showcasing that the worth of the toy is limitless based on imagination.

Lego currently features many products tied to Star Wars, Harry Potter, Cars and other popular movie franchises, but Artist Orion Pax couldn’t wait for Lego and Back to the Future to team up. Pax has taken matters into his own hands to create the Hill Valley 2015 play set. The entire town spans 140 x 140 studs and features everything from the Clock Tower to Billy Zane.
Lego has worked hard to build their reputation as a product for the hip, fun, youthful and creative. Keeping with the playful mindset, their business cards are customized figurines for each employee.
