At first glance, these incredible images look like still-life portraits of flowers. But far from being drawn in the traditional way, they are created by photographing fast-moving droplets of paint as they fall through the air. Artist Jack Long, 53, spends months painstakingly planning and testing each work before capturing them with a high-speed camera.

Getty Images has announced Jason Harper’s ‘In This Shop’ as the winner of its annual “Mishmash” music/video/ remix competition. The competition, which launched in January, received 300 entries from around the world.
The brief was simple: take Getty Images’ hi-res video, stills and music and turn it into something new.  Tell your own story.  Put your own spin on it in a short video between one and three minutes.  At least half of the imagery (video or stills) must be from Getty Images – though you can add stills, video, voiceover or illustrations you’ve made yourself.

For their 2011 Absolut Purity vodka, Absolut enlisted the help of artist Simon Schubert to created a unique poster by using just one sheet of blank paper that embodies purity to the extreme. Portraying the limited edition multi-sided bottle released at the end of the year, this creation was made without ink or chlorine, on 100% cellulose paper, and formed only from folds revealed by a play on light and shadows.
