NinaLevyHeaderNina Levy, a Brooklyn-based artist and mom, has been creating amazing drawings on lunch napkins for her two sons every day since 2007. Primarily using waterproof markers, Levy draws, both fictional and real, superheroes on generic white napkins. Since she beginning the project six years ago, she has created over 2,000 drawings and documents her illustrations on her blog ,aptly titled, “Daily Napkin”.

JohanScherftHeaderDutch artist Johan Scherft has become a master of the paper craft medium, creating a wide variety of objects including dinosaurs, animals, boats, and especially birds. Scherft uses a computer to aid in the initial steps of creating the paper blueprints but everything else is done by hand, a painstaking process that can take several days and occasionally up to a full month to complete. Some people paint, others do origami. What Simon Schubert does, might best be called ‘something right between the two’. The German artist folds and unfolds paper until a ‘ghost image’ appears. His recent work includes a collection of more than 100 pictures resembling different views on the interior of a villa.

EVOL is a Berlin based street artist that uses wheat paste and paper to convert crumbling planters and rusted electrical boxes into works out art. Each piece of paper is printed with a receptive pattern of flat gray walls and dotted with plain window frames. Once applied, the banal urban surface is transformed in small apartment building or a miniature high-rise.

For their 2011 Absolut Purity vodka, Absolut enlisted the help of artist Simon Schubert to created a unique poster by using just one sheet of blank paper that embodies purity to the extreme. Portraying the limited edition multi-sided bottle released at the end of the year, this creation was made without ink or chlorine, on 100% cellulose paper, and formed only from folds revealed by a play on light and shadows.
